Our breeding aims at Helmpack

Health
All dogs, can suffer from health issues. This is why health checks are so important. Listed below are a list of vital checks .
Hip Dysplasia
Elbow Dysplasia
DM (Degenerative myelopathy)
It is imperitive that any Dog that is to be bred from is screened against hereditary problems within the breed. All of our dogs have been hip and elbow scored with BVA or ANKC.

Type
Breed type is essentially the whole of the characteristics that are typical of a breed.
It is our job as breeders to not only breed healthy dogs of sound temperament, but to also breed dogs fit for purpose. So we can find the strengths and weaknesses within individual dogs to make calculated breeding decisions (such as not putting weakness with a weakness) to then improve on the breed. Simply putting two dogs together and hoping the puppies will turn out like a breed standard isn't enough. If a dog is not built right then it can not move right... and if it can not move right then it can not in turn do what it was bred to do.

Temperament
Breeding for temperament has several advantages over other breeding goals, such as appearance or performance. A dog with a good temperament is easier to train, socialise, and bond with its owner and other people. It is also more adaptable to new environments, situations, and experiences. Furthermore, dogs with good temperament are less likely to develop behavioural problems and health issues, leading to a better quality of life for the dog and the owner.
We aim to breed to the best possible standards of breeding with the objective of producing physically healthy and mentally strong puppies from happy, well loved health tested parents. Puppies that are as close to the breed standard as possible and have correct temperment. We are looking to find the best possible homes for our puppies and give a lifetime of support and advice to our puppy owners. We do home and reference check our hopeful puppy owners but you needn't worry about that as we aren't looking for the perfect house in the nicest estate, just the safest homes and the best possible families.
As a result of bad breeding, we often see unhealthy, aggressive puppies that look nothing like the breed they should be. Often with many health issues at a young age.
We aim to breed for three core areas - health, type and temperament which I have outlined above.
